In November 2025, it will be 5 years since Nicola lost her beloved mum to dementia. To honour her memory, she is taking on an incredible challenge: a 4-day trek through the vast and breathtaking Sahara Desert – one of the largest and most unforgiving landscapes on Earth.
She’s raising vital funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity working tirelessly toward a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They give help to those living with dementia today, and provide hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and fund ground breaking research.
Every step she takes in the desert will be powered by love, determination, and hope – and she needs your support to make it count.
Please donate if you can.

Update:
We are delighted to share that Nicola has surpassed her fundraising target of £3000 for the Alzheimer’s Society. She is now home after completing her four-day trek across the Sahara Desert. Here is what she had to say on her experience:
‘I made it!! 🏜️✨
Sahara Desert Trek – November 2025 to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society: completed!
We had it all – a sandstorm (thankfully not a bad one), a mini desert tornado, endless dunes, expedition packs (my gluten-free meals = rehydrated cardboard 😅), and the most breathtaking skies imaginable.
We watched sunsets, and moonrises from the top of dunes every night, camped beneath the Milky Way, and even scaled the highest dune in the Moroccan Sahara – Erg Chigaga, for sunrise before sliding a lot of the 300m down on my bottom (intentionally!).
Your kindness, time, donations, messages, well wishes, and little trinkets to take along with me meant the world. 💙 I cannot express this enough, I couldn’t have done it without you!
Many of you know my ‘why’ – this trek was to celebrate and honour my beautiful mum, who passed away 5 years ago.’
Everyone here at Inkjet Solutions would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone that donated and supported her along the way, your generosity made this achievement possible. Congratulations Nicola, we are very proud of you!
